Fabien Barthez

The goalkeeper’s behavior on the field is as memorable as his amazing game. Barthez used to play for clubs such as Toulouse, Olympique de Marseille, AS Monaco, Manchester United, and Nantes. His career skyrocketed in 1998 during the World Cup. In 2000, the footballer won the UEFA Cup and reached the finals of the World Cup in 2006. Moreover, Barthez won the UEFA Champions League as well as several Ligue 1 and Premier League titles.

Jean-Pierre Papin

Jean-Pierre Papin is a French striker who became a star at Olympique de Marseille. With the team, he won the French Championship four times, the Cup and twice was named player of the year in the country. But the main trophy of the period of performances for Marseille was the Golden Ball in 1991.

In 1992 Papin signed a contract with AC Milan. He twice won the Italian league title with the club. He played in the finals of the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, and the Intercontinental Cup. In 1994, the forward moved to Bayern Munich, with which he celebrated winning the UEFA Cup. Later he played for Bordeaux and EA Guingamp. Jean-Pierre Papin is one of the best scorers of France in European competitions. 38 goals in 56 meetings are on his account. In 1990, 1991 and 1992, he became the best footballer of the Champions League. As part of the French team, he played 54 matches and scored 30 goals. Jean-Pierre Papin participated in the World Cup in 1986 and the European Championship in 1992. After playing professionally Jean-Pierre played for amateur clubs as well as coaching. 

Lilian Thuram

This footballer started his professional career in Monaco in 1991. Then he moved to Italy, where he played for Parma and Juventus for 10 years. As part of the Turin club he won the Italian championship 4 times. Thuram played 121 games for the French national team and was champion of the world and Europe. Lilian Thuram is the record holder of the French national team by the number of games played for it. He finished his career in 2008 due to a heart problem.
