JELLYFISH

Seriously, this screening started a little after midnight, so cut me a break. In its defense, the film is set in Israel and manages to stay clear of politics, the PLO, and terrorism. This isnít about land, or faith, or heritage, or bloody struggles of any kind. At least I didnít notice any while my eyes were open. While I fought off the siren song of sleep and, for the most part, lost, I did catch a glimpse of a few semi-hot Israeli chicks, some mute ginger who came out of the sea, a married couple having one hell of a time in a hotel, and some Filipino nanny who really, really wanted a toy ship. Who knows? More importantly, who cares? Perhaps Jews should stick to cinematic victimhood after all.
