Comfortable and Furious

Deal or No Deal might not be on our screens, but the fun continues online

For many, watching Deal or No Deal every afternoon was a way of life. Whether it was racing home from school to catch it, settling down with a hot cup of tea in front of the telly, or watching it while eating your evening meal, Deal or No Deal was one of those game shows that everybody knew because everybody watched it. You couldn’t help but become interested in the contestants, their lives, and the psychology of a game which, at the end of the day, was simply matter of chance.

Deal or No Deal graced our screens for 11 years before being cancelled in 2016 after 13 memorable seasons. It marked the end of an era, and those who religiously watched the show day after day, becoming invested in the lives and fortunes of the participants, were forced to find a new program to obsess over. But many of those loyal Deal or No Deal fans no doubt still pine for Noel Edmonds, the Banker, and those familiar red boxes.

But all is not lost, for Deal or No Deal still lives on through the online versions of the game, which can be played for real cash. The Deal or No Deal game at Paddy Power is one example of how the legacy of the famous game show has endured despite the program’s cancellation. It offers players the chance to follow in the footsteps of past winners and seek a fortune from the big red boxes, all while getting one over on the pernicious Banker.

The aim of the online game is simple, and will be familiar to those who watched the game show frequently on their TV screens. At the beginning you pick your own box, each numbered from one to 26, and this will be your box for the entire game. You will then go about removing boxes from the game, revealing their monetary values as you go. The question is whether you will stick with your own box, or take the banker’s offer and spare yourself the tension of going all the way to the end. With an RTP of over 95%, you might just fancy your chances of bagging a win.

It’s amazing just how immersive the game is, and once you get started you’ll soon feel like you’re there in the dream factory yourself. Deal or No Deal can be a cruel game if your luck is out, but the rewards are rich if you feel that the stars are aligned for you to have a winning run. Naturally, the prizes on offer don’t quite stretch to the 250,000 GBP seen in the original game show, but with a top prize of 1,000 GBP, it may well be worth a go!

There are a whole host of different Deal or No Deal themed games available to play online. If the classic version just isn’t doing it for you, there are various other options which add a little extra spice to proceedings. We can all unite in our love for this classic game show, and thanks to the advent of online Deal or No Deal, we can still revel in its unique thrills.
