Nexa has become one of the world’s most famous vape brands over the past year or so, and one of the reasons why they’ve been so successful is because they’ve introduced clear tanks for e-liquid storage across their full range of new devices. That’s a great feature because it makes it easy for you to track how much vape juice you have left. It also reduces waste because you can use your device until every drop of juice in the tank is gone. The fact that Nexa vapes are designed differently compared to vapes from other companies, though, means that they’re sometimes a bit more susceptible to leaking – but you’re about to find the solution.
Is your Nexa vape leaking? You’re about to read some tips that will help you fix your device. Here’s what you need to do.
Make Sure You’ve Installed the Tank Correctly
Every disposable vape can potentially leak, but you’re slightly more likely to experience leaks with a Nexa vape that uses a clear tank because the e-liquid isn’t stored inside the body of the device as it is with traditional disposable vapes. If your device holds its vape juice in a tank, you need to make sure that you install the tank correctly after taking the vape out of the package.
Nexa Ultra
If you’re using the Nexa Ultra, you need to install the tank yourself after unpacking the device. This is where mistakes usually happen because you need to perform some specific steps to ensure correct installation.
Before installing the tank, look inside the device and locate the rubber cover over the peg. You need to remove and discard the cover, but you shouldn’t remove the foil covering the opening on the side of the tank. Incorrect removal of the foil is the top reason why the Nexa Ultra leaks. When you insert the tank, the peg on the inside of the device will pierce the foil and open the tank. Simply line the tank up with the device and push it until it clicks.
Did you remove the foil from the tank before installing it in your Nexa Ultra? It’s going to be difficult to avoid leaking in this case because of the way the device is designed. Unfortunately, you’re probably going to have to put up with leaks until the device runs out of e-liquid.
Nexa Pix
If you’re using the Nexa Pix, installing the tank is easier because the tank is already in the correct position before you remove it from the package. All that you need to do is push the tank into the device until it clicks. When the tank clicks, it’s locked into place. All that you need to do is wait a few minutes for the wick to saturate, and the device is ready to use.
If you’re certain that you set the device up correctly – or you’re using an older Nexa device like the N20000 that doesn’t store its e-liquid in a tank – you’ll have to do a bit more troubleshooting to resolve the problem. Here’s what you should do next.
Puff More Gently When Hitting Your Nexa Vape
A disposable vape usually has a small air intake in order to provide the type of tight mouth-to-lung draw that you’d expect from a cigarette. That’s true of most Nexa vapes as well, and that means you need to be careful about how much air pressure you use when vaping. If you puff too aggressively, you could overwhelm your device’s narrow airflow channel and draw excess e-liquid into the atomizer coil assembly. The e-liquid will flood the coil, triggering a leak.
It’s easy to avoid flooding the coil in your Nexa vape. All that you need to do is puff gently. If you want your device to produce a bigger cloud, you need to take a longer puff rather than a harder one. When your device turns on, that’s all the air pressure you need to use. If your Nexa vape makes a gurgling sound, you’re definitely puffing too hard.
Store Your Nexa Vape in a Cool Place
When you aren’t using your Nexa vape, it’s important to avoid storing it in a place where the temperature is likely to become elevated. That’s because the viscosity of e-liquid is reduced at higher temperatures. The reduced viscosity can cause the wick to become oversaturated, flooding the coil. Although the cause is different, it’s the same problem that you can encounter if you puff on your device too firmly.
If your Nexa vape makes a gurgling sound when you start using it after storing it for a while, there’s excess e-liquid in the coil assembly. You should store your device in a cooler environment. You should also check the orientation of your Nexa vape when you aren’t using it, which we’ll discuss in the following section.
Avoid Storing Your Nexa Vape on Its Side
Does your Nexa vape ever gurgle when you pick it up for the first time at the beginning of the day? If you’re not storing the device in a hot environment, you need to check its orientation.
- If your device has a flat bottom, store it face up to prevent excess e-liquid from saturating the coil.
- If your device doesn’t have a flat bottom, you’ll need to store it on its side. Check for the location of the air intake vent and store the device with the vent facing up if possible.
Look Out for Fake Nexa Vapes
If you have a Nexa vape that leaks persistently even though you’re sure that you’re doing everything right, it’s possible that your device has a manufacturing defect. Although defects are rare, they do happen.
It’s also important to be on the lookout for fake devices when you shop for Nexa vapes. The factories that make fake vapes always make counterfeit versions of the most popular brands, and Nexa is extremely popular these days. Avoid the convenience stores and gas stations and buy your vapes from a reliable vape shop.
