Alien in the Heartland is yet another Indie film directed and written by Eric Pascarelli, who also directed Dracula: The Count’s Kin and Chasing Rabbits. Eric again relies heavily on some of his existing stable of actors, such as James Tackett, who has starred in many of Eric’s films, and others such as Loss Prevention.
Along with James as the paranoid Thomas, the “seeing aliens in everyone widower”, we have Daisey P. Hickey as Kim, Holly Anspaugh as Ellie, Chloe Lutz as her sister Joanna and Beth Metcalf as Devin.
Well, O.K., just what is going on in this peaceful Indiana Heartland? We really don’t know, but the population is growing more jittery and nervous. There are power downs, internet outages and strange sightings in the atmosphere. There are rumors, whispers, and incubating fears and mistrusts fueled by a cascade of events that leave neighbors grappling for answers to questions that cannot even be reasonably formulated. There is also an inexplicable podcast from a Church where a conspiracy theorist author and the podcaster go absolutely feral.

Reasonable doubt and Occam’s Razor are scrapped and then the F.B.I arrives to investigate! The investigation for possible aliens posing as humans was one of the most boring and unintentionally hilarious things that I’ve ever seen. Their “investigation” is suddenly interrupted, so they leave, but promise that “They’ll Be Back”
O.K., I get it. This is a low budget movie that is heavy on dialogue and sparse on the spectacular special effects that are so common in sci-fi movies. However, stick with this one, folks! It’s not over until it is over…Or is it? I mean, are there aliens around, or is this just another War of the Worlds type hysteria? Check the link below to find the answers.
